Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Accountant, Guest Service Representatives are members of the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre Team and are responsible for providing service excellence to our valued members and guests.  We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who have a genuine passion for working with people and as part of a team.  They must have exceptional leadership, communication and problem solving skills to ensure the ultimate guest experience.  These team members are responsible for program registration, phone use, internal and external communication, facility admission and membership sales.  The Guest Services Team also provides administrative support to Aquatics and the Management Team as required.  We are looking to create a dynamic team who embody positive attitudes and a strong desire to foster community within the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre.

Water Safety Instructor

Position Title: Red Cross Water Safety Instructor                           

Reports to: Deck Supervisor and/or Aquatic Manager                                                      

Hours:  Part-time evenings and weekends.   

(Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings)                      

Wage: $12.00 - $14.00 / hr.

Criminal Record, Vulnerable Sector and Child Abuse Registry required for employment

 

QUALIFICATIONS:
Desirable Qualifications: 

(Training provided in any of the following to successful candidates)

  • Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI)

Additional Desirable Qualifications:

  • Assistant Lifeguard (ALG)
  • Red Cross Lifeguard – Pool
  • National Lifeguard - Pool
  • Standard First Aid – CPR-C / AED (Current)                                                                                             

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Canadian Red Cross Training Partner, the LCLC offers the Red Cross Swim Program annually.

The Program is on a 10-week basis, beginning October – December, January – March, April – June and varying through the summer months. 

Lessons are offered on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings as well as Saturday and Sunday mornings.

In-services and Professional Development are provided on a regular basis to ensure consistent and quality instruction.

TRAINING:

If you are interested in becoming a Water Safety Instructor, the LCLC offers the training on a seasonal basis.

The training is comprised of a Skills Screening to assess your swimming ability, an online component, a Classroom/Pool component and Practice Teaching which is a commitment to one day of swimming lessons for the 10 week duration.

Lifeguard

Position Title: Lifeguard                

Reports to: Deck Supervisor and/or Aquatic Manager

  • Red Cross Lifeguard – Pool Option
  • National Lifeguard Service Award (NLS) – Pool Option
  • Standard First Aid – CPR-C / AED (Current)

  • Assistant Lifeguard Instructor (ALGI)
  • Lifesaving Instructor (LSI)
  • National Lifeguard Service Instructor (NLSI - Pool)
  • Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT)


POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Deck Supervisor Aquatic Manager, you will provide safe and enjoyable aquatic opportunities for the public through the provision of lifeguarding.  You will prevent injuries through education and safety supervision of all swimmers.  When required, you will respond to both injuries and incidents in a manner that reflects your standard of training.  Developing positive public relations, ensuring safe water quality, and maintaining a clean aquatic environment are all ways that you will ensure the ultimate guest/member experience.
