Iyengar Yoga focuses on precise alignment of the body in asana (classical hatha yoga poses). Stretching exercises improve flexibility, while strengthening exercises tone muscles. Balancing poses improve balance and posture. All poses teach awareness of the whole body, with emphasis on correct breathing, correct posture of the spine, and working within your own capacity. Classes include guided relaxation to teach the mind and body to release stored tension.
