The province confirmed today (October 2nd) a 10-million-dollar commitment to the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre, and welcomed an additional 10-point-three-million-dollar contribution from the federal government.
The Department of Health Promotion and Protection had announced its contribution from the Building Facilities and Infrastructure Together program in May 2008.

The province confirmed today, Oct. 2, a $10 million commitment to the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre, and welcomed an additional $10.35 million contribution from the federal government.
The new, $31.5 million facility will help Lunenburg County residents enjoy the benefits of recreation and physical activity in their community.
The Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre (LCLC) Society Board of Director members are available to present to and discuss with organizations the progress of the LCLC project.
LCLC board members have made presentations to the Riverport District Board of Trade, The YMCA Board of Directors, the Rotary Club of Bridgewater and District and the Lunenburg County Branch – Retired Teachers Organization.

A Giant Leap Forward! The long awaited Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre (LCLC) will become a reality.
This great announcement today by the Government of Canada provides a major funding contribution of $10,350,000 which ensures that this multipurpose centre will provide a foundation for health, wellness, culture, recreation, competitive sport, social, economic and educational opportunities in Lunenburg County.

GOVERNMENT OF CANADA SUPPORTS LUNENBURG COUNTY LIFESTYLE CENTRE
Bridgewater, Nova Scotia, October 2, 2009 – Gerald Keddy, Member of Parliament for South Shore – St. Margaret's, today announced the Government of Canada's commitment to provide residents of Lunenburg County with a new multipurpose recreational centre. The Government of Canada is setting aside up to one-third of total eligible costs, to a maximum federal contribution of $10.35 million for the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre, a priority project for the federal government, the Town of Bridgewater and the Municipality of the District of Lunenburg.
"This is a great day for Lunenburg County! I have worked diligently on this project, along with the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre Society, and I've always had faith we would see it through to its finish," said MP Keddy. "The Government of Canada, under the leadership of Stephen Harper, recognizes that infrastructure investments are essential to stimulating the economy and creating jobs. This new multipurpose lifestyle facility is an excellent example of modern infrastructure that will encourage stronger, healthier and more active communities today and for the future."
