LCLC Weather Notice: Thursday, April 4, 2024

The LCLC will be closing at 7pm due to the ongoing weather system to ensure patron and staff safety. All ice bookings, aquatic programming and room bookings after 7pm will be cancelled. There are no swimming lessons or active living classes this evening.

Join the Ride in support of Hope for Wildlife!

When: Sunday June 9, 2024

Where: Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre (LCLC)
Meet at the LCLC parking lot at 9:00 am. Depart at 9:30 am.

Route: 56 KM Ride Bridgewater-Petite Riviere-LaHave-Bridgewater
• The ride will consist of some trail riding and some riding on roads.
• Starting at LCLC in Bridgewater we will travel towards Conquerall Mills, Crousetown, Petite Riviere Bridge and Cresent Beach. Here we will take a break. Lunch will be served between 12:00 and 12:30. Additionally, water, bananas and granola bars will be provided for those arriving early. At 1:30 pm we continue to LaHave and then back along the LaHave River to Bridgewater (LCLC).

Why: Raise funds for a great cause and have some fun
• Hope for Wildlife is a charitable wildlife rehabilitation and education organization located in Seaforth, Nova Scotia.
• The centre is dedicated to providing care to injured and orphaned animals before releasing them back into the wild.
• It also seeks to connect people to wildlife in a positive way through education for a sustainable future
• A community get together, encouraging exercise & healthy living.

What’s included:
• Snacks and Lunch at Crescent Beach
• Lunch provided (pre-order and pre-payment required) $12 per person

What to bring:
• Your Donation! (On the Website or bring Check or cash)
• Water, snacks, sunscreen, sunglasses, rain jacket

Check out local artisans and vendors displaying their best stuff. Find everything from handmade jewelry to tasty snacks. It's a chance to shop local, enjoy live music, and have fun with the family. There's something for everyone, so come on down and support your community. Don't miss out on the springtime vibe at the LCLC!

LCLC BOARD ANNOUNCES THE ARRIVAL OF NEW GM JANETTE HUBKA

The Board of Directors of the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre (LCLC) are excited to share with the community that the facility has hired Janette Hubka as the new General Manager. 

With an extensive leadership portfolio, Janette brings valuable experience from her roles at institutions such as the Royal Tyrrell Museum in Alberta and the Art Gallery of Alberta. Her most recent position as the Managing Director at the Ross Creek Centre for the Arts in Canning, NS, has further enriched her expertise.

Janette is recognized for her community-oriented approach and her remarkable achievements in fostering cohesive teams and ensuring operational excellence.

"I'm thrilled to contribute my expertise to the LCLC," says Janette. "I am eager to continue the momentum of past achievements and cultivate a dynamic, inclusive space that serves as a thriving hub for community engagement and recreational activities." 

David Mitchell, Bridgewater’s mayor and the current chairperson of the LCLC’s Board of Directors, said 

"We are extremely excited to welcome Janette as the new general manager of the Lunenburg County Lifestyle Centre. She is a dynamic individual, with great ideas on how to grow the importance of this facility for our community, and we know with her years of experience in management that she's up to the task – she will be a great leader for the organization."

Carolyn Bolivar-Getson, Mayor for the Municipality and long time Board member of the LCLC said  “As we bid farewell to Kent, we also warmly welcome Janette Hubka as the new General Manager of the LCLC. We look forward to the promising journey ahead under Janette's capable guidance. Together, we will continue to enhance the LCLC's role as the heart of our community.
